4 Simple Tips To Make You A Climate Change Hero

We all want to save the environment but it can be hard to know where to start.

You don’t need to join Greenpeace just yet.

We’ve researched 4 easy ways you can swap some of your every-day items to more environmentally options and become a climate change hero in the comfort of your own home.

1. Plastic-free Tea Bags

If you love your tea as much as I do, you’ll be delighted to know that many brands are finding alternatives that don’t contain plastic. Twinings, Pukka, Lipton’s Quality Black and T2 tea bags are plastic-free. You could also opt for loose-leaf tee if you want to avoid plastic altogether.

2. Change Your Coffee Pods

IIf you need your daily caffeine hit without the environmental guilt trip, there are a few paths you can try. If you are a Nespresso user, there may be a recycling points near you. You could also try out Republica pods, which decompose at the same rate as an orange peel.

3. Cling Wrap Convenience Without the Waste

We go through rolls and rolls of Cling Wrap at my house and I often think about how wasteful this product is. I’ve recently discovered beeswax wraps. They’re usually made of cotton with beeswax and oil, will cling to whatever you need them to and can be reused. Many companies sell them in a funky range of colours, too.

4. Say Farewell to the Wet Wipes

We’re not big fans of the wet wipe here at E-Dry. These products are often marketed as flushable but unfortunately, they contain plastic and won’t break down when they reach the sewers. Wet wipes block pipes and can congeal into ‘fatbergs’. A fatberg discovered in England ithis year was as big as five buses and was a mammoth mission to remove. There are some great alternatives, though.

Substitute your makeup remover with the MakeUp Eraser or even a liquid remover product on a face washer will suffice. Use makeup remover on a face washer or reusable cotton pad. There are quite a few biodegradable baby wipes on the market now, which are better for the environment but also gentler on your little one’s skin too.
