What is E-SHIELD?
E-Shield contains an active ingredient named Healthguard® AMIC which, when applied to textiles after cleaning, binds to fibres and protects against a broad spectrum of bacteria and germs.
Your E-Dry technician is trained in the application of E-Shield, ensuring that the required coverage of the textile is achieved so that the product is effective.
E-Shield is residually active, providing ongoing treatment against a range of odour-causing micro-organisms. It will continue to provide protection until the product is worn off the fibres with regular foot traffic and use.
How Long Will E-Shield Remain Active For?
In a typical family home, E-Shield will effectively treat a range of micro-organisms for up to 4 months, gradually wearing away. It may last longer in areas with minimal traffic, however we recommend reapplication every 4 months to ensure adequate coverage and protection.
High traffic areas and commercial premises will require more frequent application as these may be areas with higher volumes of foot traffic and use.

Healthguard® AMIC was released in March 2020 by Australian company Global Speciality Chemicals Pty. Ltd, which specialises in developing biotech solutions for preventative healthcare.
HealthGuard® products are safe, revolutionary and independently proven by government accredited testing agencies to treat bed bugs, dust-mites, mosquitoes, bacteria, mould and germs.
As the key active component in E-Shield, Healthguard® AMIC will treat a variety or germs, bacteria and mould.
Frequently Asked Questions
The active ingredient in E-Shield works by bonding to your carpet or upholstery fibres. Soiling on your fibres will affect the performance of the active ingredient, which is why we recommend that we clean your carpets or upholstery prior to application of E-Shield. Your E-Dry technician can apply E-Shield to your carpet or upholstery provided:
• Your carpet or upholstery has been professionally cleaned in the last 6 months.
• The carpet or upholstery is less than a year old.
The technician will still perform a thorough pre-vacuum if E-Shield is being applied without cleaning.
Strict testing in the Healthguard labs has revealed that Healthguard AMIC will effectively treat a broad range of germs, bacteria and mould.
The University of Melbourne is undertaking independent testing (as at March 30, 2020) to determine the effectiveness of Healthguard AMIC prior to registration with the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
E-Dry expects that the University testing will confirm Healthguard® AMIC effectively kills enveloped viruses, which the Coronavirus is categorised as.

Maximum room size of 13 sqm. Maximum seat width of 80cm. Minimum call-out price of $100 ($70 minimum call out for previous E-Dry customers). Application includes a thorough pre-vacuum. If your E-Dry technician considers your carpet or lounge to be soiled then cleaning will be required at an additional cost. The application cost includes moving small or light items of furniture only.
